The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it is actually alarmed regarding the higher variety of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The services point established for intervention activities a substantial influx of possible here beneficiaries, that makes it difficult to the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to enable the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
